Original green cloth lettered in gilt on boards. Previous owner's name, with reference to Blooming Grove Study Club, Mr. Corning - Leader. Interesting account of Carleton's meeting Walt Whitman. This copy has one gutter strain between pp. 48-49, and a few cover spots. No extraneous writing and no other damage. The last line encapsulates Carleton's literary contribution, "To popularize rural domestic life." 98 pp.
