Original dark blue cloth with oval title box on boards. Patterned endpapers. Minor cover abrasion. Wikipedia classifies this work as fiction. Allen French (1870-1946) was known for writing carefully-researched historical pieces as well as imaginative historical fiction. This story begins in Michigan's "thumb", in conflict between whites and aboriginals, but then moves to the Boston area in the period just prior to the fateful faceoff at Lexington between the Colonials and the British. 504 pp.
