She is pursued at home by Mrs. Craven-Spitz, a twice-divorced actress with a bad reputation. Ruth refuses to cast her for the movie even though Spitz claims that the company CEO had recommended her earlier that morning. An explosion in the studio requires Ruth to rent another one in order to stay on schedule. (Note: By this time I have read half the book. Now I must leave you to finish it on your own). By coincidence I worked part-time at the Toledo Blade 1966-69, while Mrs. Benson, who had married the editor, cranked out obituaries in another department. We never met. Bomba finally learns about his parents, Andrew Bartow, an artist, and his wife, Laura, a singer. Although his parents had taken him to New York Bomba longed to return to the jungle. When his father goes to Africa on an assignment he is captured by cannibals. Bomba returns to the jungle to search for his father. It turns out that the pygmy child Bomba saved is a nephew of Azande, the pygmy leader. There is much more to the story. 212 pp.
