Original maroon cloth with black border stripe and lettering, black spine lettering. No DJ. Scan shows the mottled cover, which I believe was caused by moisture. Only minor corner wear, bookplate of previous owner, OW good. Dr. Miller was a close associate of A.I. Root, who is known among agricultural collectors as the grandfather of American apiculture. A lifetime's education about bees, with light-hearted descriptions of early schooling and work experiences of value to anyone, especially the young. This is not only the best of the bee books, but also a revealing biography of an inquisitive, highly-disciplined teacher, medical doctor, and apiarist. 328 pp.
