FFEP MISSING. Rare volume, whose author is better known as the son of his mother, Sarah Morgan Dawson. Warrington had had her diaries published after she died, as A Confederate Girl's Diary. Warrington was a friend of Joseph Conrad, but although he wrote at least four other novels as well as The Scourge, never became well known, spending most of his time in France. Only one other copy of this First Edition known. Edges browned and tiny black ink spot on cover. 309 pp, plus 40-page catalog of Methuen offerings, a useful reference in itself.
