Original grey cloth on boards, no DJ. Rather fragile copy of a desirable book. Believed THE First Edition, but no copyright information. Author was born at the Naval Prison at Bodmin, Cornwall, where his father was Governor, in 1888. He served in the Royal Engineers(sappers). He had at least five previous stories to his credit, but shortly after this volume was published he launched the Bulldog Drummond character which completely overshadowed his war stories. He died in 1937, leaving many avid readers. Spine sunned and fragile, corners bumped, normal wear. All text intact. 296 pp.
