Original smooth calf bordered in gold on boards. All edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. Light wear ro spine joints. Previous owner's name in small script each volume. Hinges sound. Five raised bands each volume. Anonymous correspondence of the three years, 1769-1772, in strong disapproval of the ministry of Augustus Henry Fitzroy, 3td Duke of Grafton, sent as letters to the Public Advertiser. The purpose of the letters, apparently, was to inform fellow Englishmen of their rights as well as to point out how the government of the day had infringed upon them. Elongated sentences constructed in classic syntax abound. These are beautiful books full of thought-provoking concepts, conceived in the heated days leading to the American Revolution. Volume I has 480 pp. while Volume II has 458, with Index. Please allow for extra postage.
