Blue patterned cloth backed in brown. Howell entered Jesus College, Oxford at 19, and intended to accept a graduate fellowship there after completing the B.A. in 1613. After 13 years of waiting, his spot was taken by another. He found employment with a glass manufacturer which took him to Europe, where he learned several languages. He began writing, the first person to succeed in English alone. 333 and 346 pp., respectively, in the two volumes. Small print.
