Talfourd, 176 pp. Stephen, 158 pp. Among Talfourd's subjects are British Novels and Romances, Modern Periodical Literature, and The Melo-Dramas Against Gambling. Among Stephens's subjects are Life and Times of Richard Baxter, Physical Theory of Another Life, and Ignatius Loyola and His Associates. "Kingston Lyceum" in ink handwriting on first free endpaper. No other writing. Tiny nick our of head of spine. Light foxing limited to rear (blank) endpapers. Both writers were lawyers who added to their incomes by writing. Stephen notably opposed slavery. He was the great grandfather of Virginia Woolf.
