Maroon cloth on boards. Previous owner's name (Maude Palmer) and date (Easter Sunday, April 14th/95). David Palmer (1789-1866) farmed the 1000 acres left to him by his father, Daniel Palmer, and mother, Sarah (Whittemore) Palmer (1758-1829) who had emigrated from Massachusetts to Grand Lake in 1786 and settled at Douglas Harbour. The book is a gathering of the most innocent expressions of Christian love toward family and friends I have seen, following the featured longer poem titled, New Brunswick. Faded spine and ding to edge of rear cover. A gummed bookmark was left in place too long, and has adhered to the second last free endpaper. 171 pp.
