A beautiful little volume of 87 pp. The author was born Julius Sophus Felix Dahn, eldest son of Friedrich and Constanze Dahn, actors in Hamburg's city theatre. A right-wing professor of law in several universities with several important publications to his credit, he was elected rector of the university at Breslau, where he died shortly before his 78th birthday, in 1889..
