Original full brown suede leather with red title plate lettered in gilt. No others in this binding found. Believed First Edition since author (Rev. Charles Gordon) was Canadian, and a Presbyterian minister, but no conclusive evidence. (Westminster is an important Presbyterian publishing house). Edges a little grubby, but such a lovely "feel" ! Hinges repaired previously with masking tape, and I glued a portion of the cover to the text block at the rear hinge. 401 pp. plus ad. View more info

Publisher: Toronto, The Westminster Company, Ltd.: 1899

Original cream and brown cloth on boards. I am confident that this is the true First Edition, since "Connor" was a Presbyterian minister and Westminster was the Presbyterian publishing house. I assume that he would give them the first chance to publish this book, since they had published Black Rock the previous year. Previous owner's name in large, lovely script. No other writing. Lightly cocked. 300 pp. View more info
