Original purple cloth with gilt lettering on boards, no DJ. Covers faded and soiled. Several pages re-attached. Interior clean and easily readable. Lectures titled "Cromwell and the Ironsides", "Cobden and the Corn Laws", and "Havelock and the March to Lucknow" were given at the Mechanic's Institute (later the New Brunswick Museum) in the three winters previous, while the lecture on the Reformation was given before the Young People's Institute. He is credited by some with initiating "responsible government" to the province. Prefatory Notice by the young Reverend Currie hailed Wilmot as an outstanding member of the Methodist Church in Fredericton of which Currie was pastor. The aurhor, Rev. J.
